Dropla is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria, part of Balchik municipality, Dobrich region. The village is located 15 km away from the town of General Toshevo, 25 km away from the town of Dobrich, 85 km away from the city of Varna and 20 km away from the town of Balchik and the sea-coast.

The population numbers to approximately 320 people. Two former settlements have formed the nowadays village - Toy Koyusyu (meaning the bustard's well)  and  Mursal Kyoy.
The country is flat and extremely fruitful. The territory of the village exceeds 40 000 decars. The huge fields are protected by a forest-shelter belts.
In the past the area was famous for the huge colony of buzzards, but the birds have become extinct due to the felling of the forests in the area turning them into arable land. The historians state that  there used to be a Thracian settlement near the village.

In the village there is a community center, a kindergarten, food shops, a cafe, a medical center where two physicians and a dentist are working, an automatic telephone operator serving the villages Dropla, Zmeevo and Kremena, a post-office and a lottery station. The construction of an Orthodox church in the village is planned. The Antimovski Inn (as described in the books of a famous Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov) has been restored and is now the favourite gathering point for the local hunters.
On the territory of the village there is one agricultural co-operation and two arable land leaseholders providing job to the younger inhabitants of the village.
The ceremonial hall, where marriages, baptisms and funerals are carried out, has been restored, as well.
In the community center there is a pensioner's club where elder people are performing authentic folklore, retro, Christmas carols and songs of the Revival Period. There is also an ethnographic museum collection displaying objects used in the households in the past: a spinning wheel, a wool card, a butter making devise, authentic table cloths, bread cloths, rugs etc.
The locals are proud of their football team "Ustrem" ("zeal") - the constant champion in the local championship and a candidate for national football "B" group.
Dropla is an attractive destination for foreigners willing to purchase a property in Bulgaria. Currently there are  English, Arabs and Czech citizens who bought property  in the village. Some of them are already coming over to their houses in the summer. Some of them are impressed by the healthy clean air, others - by the tranquillity and the proximity to the sea-coast.
