The village of Nikolaevka, municipality of Suvorovo is located 30 km away. northwest of the city of Varna. It is located 350 m. above sea level on both sides of the Nikolaev River. It was founded in 1823, and its first name was Hadercha. Here, the patriotic village farmer Atanas Georgiev, at his own expense, opened in 1847 the first Bulgarian school in the Varna district. The village was renamed in 1877 in honor of Prince Nikolay Nikolaevich - commander-in-chief of the Russian troops, younger brother of Tsar Alexander II.

Nowadays, the village of Nikolaevka is popular mostly among fishermen with its beautiful dams and clean nature, as well as among the followers of Petar Danov.
The dams are part of the cascade of dams in the villages of Levski, Nikolaevka and Voditsa. Nikolaevka Dam occupies an area of 346 decares and is one of the largest in the district. It is stocked with carp, largemouth bass, catfish, white carp, redfin and roach. An attraction of the dam in the village of Nikolaevka is also the crabs.
The good management of the water facilities in recent years, the beautiful nature and the proximity of the city of Varna have made the village of Nikolaevka a favorite vacation spot for keen anglers. With the realization of the project under the PHAR program, the road to the dam and the tourist hut in the village of Nikolaevka is repaved and electrified. The dam has also established itself as a venue for fishing competitions and a base for instructors. The record catch in the waters of Nikolaevka was a carp of 16 kg, caught in the summer of 2006, and the heaviest grass carp taken out of the waters was 10.2 kg.
The waters and the coast are regularly cleaned, and the traditional places where fishermen gather have been made recreation areas and places for tents, without using materials of synthetic origin.
The village is also visited by many tourists-followers of Petar Danov who follow in his footsteps. A little above the field, where his native home used to be, the house-museum of Petar Danov is currently being restored with voluntary work and donations. Petar Dunov's father - Konstantin Dunovski, was the first teacher and priest in the village. The school where he taught has been preserved to this day. It is the first cell school in the Varna district. It was founded in 1847, together with the "St. Athanasius" church, which is still active today. The village holiday is May 2, Atanasovden, and the village assembly is on October 26, Dimitrovden.
